What is a Retirement Home?
Though terms like a retirement home, retirement community, and nursing home are sometimes used interchangeably, they refer to different types of care. Nursing homes generally offer more medical care and are meant for seniors with more acute physical and mental needs. Retirement communities are like small villages, with separate homes for each resident.
Premiere Cottages presents a blend of these approaches. Our four locations are separate homes that can each house several residents simultaneously. We offer many of the benefits of nursing care and can accommodate visiting health care professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and hospice physicians.
Retirement Home Services
Premiere Cottages offers a full suite of retirement home services, including but not limited to:
- Caring, compassionate staff on call 24/7 to see to the needs of our residents
- Regular individual health assessments to check if a resident needs additional care
- Self-care assistance when needed. Residents may request help with dressing, bathing, grooming, and basic mobility.
- A number of different living arrangements, including private or shared rooms. Furniture can be provided or residents may bring their own.
- Delicious home-cooked meals and nutritious snacks. The menu can be customized to our residents’ requests.
- Entertainment or shared activities as desired (ie. visits to parks or museums, movie nights)
